The Cretingham Bell

Cretingham, Suffolk

Charles & Sarah moved in on the 28th September 2009. We have made a number of changes around the place. The real Ales we currently have are Adnams and a Guest Ale on cask, Grolsch blond lager on draught along with Guinness of course the line up would not be complete without Aspalls Cyder!

Dating originally from c. 1545 The Bell is situated on the crossroads in the centre of Cretingham just 10 miles from Ipswich and a few miles from Woodbridge - the building has many period features, timbered throughout with 3 inglenook fireplaces..

The Bell offers you a warm welcome from its new leaseholders Charles & Sarah. We have two bar areas and the snug is dog friendly for the convenience of our regular customers and visitors. Our cosy restaurant can seat 40 where we offer excellent hand cooked food at lunchtime and evenings, on Sunday’s we feature a traditional Sunday roast menu.

We have two Double En-Suite bedrooms & a Twin En-Suite available for bed & breakfast each with its own character, featuring low ceilings with beams.

There is a large car park and a beer garden at the front (shown on the right) with a large decked area.

We have changed to our Spring opening hours and menus, we will still be doing take away fish & chips on a Friday evening and have a number of specials available on a daily basis depending on the availability of local produce, a traditional roast dinner is available on a Sunday.

We hope you will come and visit us and enjoy the 16th century charm of our traditional village inn.

Guest Reviews

Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5
A wonderful weekend away in Suffolk helped by the marvellous weather. Charles and Sarah were exceptional hosts who were both friendly and professional. We liked the quietness of the location. The food was excellent and our hosts would do anything to make our stay perfect including preparing a meal for us when the pub was closed. Lots of great advice about local attractions helped us to make the most of our stay. This was our first visit to Suffolk and we loved the area.
