A wonderful weekend away in Suffolk helped by the marvellous weather. Charles and Sarah were exceptional hosts who were both friendly and professional. We liked the quietness of the location. The food was excellent and our hosts would do anything to make our stay perfect including preparing a meal for us when the pub was closed. Lots of great advice about local attractions helped us to make the most of our stay. This was our first visit to Suffolk and we loved the area. Read less

Lovely quiet rural location. Our room was perfect, very comfortable and warm. All the chairs were comforatble throughout the pub including very cosy sofas to relax on in the evening by the fire.

Very friendly greeting on arrival, the rooms are comfortable & full of character, as is the whole building. Breakfast is second to none

Just got back from The Cretingham Bell, where we had booked for one night 2nd July, Charles and Sarah, were very helpful, and great hosts. The bar and eating area, is lovely, old beams, inglenook fireplaces, comfy sofa's and table's and chairs, and lots of outdoor seating too. The room with ensuite, was lovely, spacious and clean. Charles is the chef, and the food was excellent, lots to choose from and cooked to perfection. Full english breakfast, was ample and again, cooked perfectly.

We came to stay for one night as we were visiting friends. In hindsight, the poor service led us to regret not camping instead! Really poor customer service from start to finish. When I booked I was told we wouldn't be able to check in at lunchtime but when we arrived at 3pm it was shut. We had to come back after 6pm which was a pain. When we arrived a roudy stag party were getting out of hand (eventually chucked out.) Then we were given a curfew of 11.30 on a Saturday night! Read less

Poor customer service, roudy stag party, NO cooked breakfast (we didnt' get up at 9am on a Sunday morning!!!!) Expensive and not a good experience. All this and a CURFEW of 11.30 in a country village!

We are sorry that you were dissapointed, in your email to arrange early booking you asked for a 1pm check in & 00.30 return to which I confirmed by email, the curfew is set with other room guests & elderly neighbours in mind, you did arrive back early at 10.45 though. You did not say what you would like for breakfast when you arranged a 9am booking, it could have been cooked ready for when you appeared at 9.50, even though check out time is 10am as you would have seen from your booking details

We loved the sixteenth century building with original beamed rooms and modern facilities. The proprietors were welcoming and friendly,the quality of the food in the restaurant excellent,unbeatable.
Dislikes:
An earlier booking-in time may be appreciated.
